Promoting electrical safety among technicians is good. But teaching those personnel about the production, distribution, protection, and maintenance of electrical equipment is even better. To accomplish this goal, Group CBS hass opened a training center outside Chicago in Elgin, IL. Group CBS Training Center Chicago is the second facility of its kind, following in the footsteps of the inaugural training center at CBS Northeast in Seymour, CT.
In November, Group CBS offers its customers two days of electrical safety training at no cost. The event includes presentations and training on lockout/tagout, electrical safety, remote racking and switching, and NFPA 70E standards. It concludes with an exclusive presentation by Finley Ledbetter, CEO and chief operating scientist for Group CBS, who will preview the latest electrical technology advancements in power distribution systems.
The presentations fulfill the OSHA and NFPA requirement that all employees who come into contact with potential arc-flash equipment must be trained and tested every three years. At the conclusion of the event, participants will receive a certificate of completion, including test results.
