The CBS ArcSafe® RSA-174F remote switch actuator designed to safely and remotely operate circuit breakers outside the arc-flash zone has won ISHN magazine’s 2015 Readers’ Choice Award. The magazine’s readers voted on the product to win in the Arc Flash Protection category.
“This award was voted on by the ISHN subscribers who are professionals responsible for the safety within high-hazard industries such as construction, manufacturing, service, health, and facilities industries,” says Ashley McWhorter, president of CBS ArcSafe, Inc. “These professionals understand and value solutions that keep their employees safe, so we are extremely pleased to be recognized by these safety experts.”
The CBS ArcSafe RSA-174F remote switch actuators are designed to remotely operate ABB/Sace Tmax T7 low-voltage molded case circuit breakers with current ratings of 1000A through 1600A. The RSA-174F actuators, which are designed for Tmax T7 breakers equipped with over-toggle mechanisms, allow technicians to safely close and open breakers while stationed outside of the arc-flash hazard boundary without any modification to the breaker.
The RSA-174F most recently won Plant Engineering magazine’s 2014 Product of the Year award and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) magazine’s 2014 New Product of the Year Award, both in the Electrical Safety category. Other CBS ArcSafe product honors include Product of the Year awards from OH&S (2013) and Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M) magazine (2012).
